President Donald Trump plans to end the prohibitions and restrictions on plastic straws, according to his recent publication about Truth Social.
“I will sign an executive order next week that ends the ridiculous impulse of Biden for paper straws, which does not work,” Trump published Friday. “Back to plastic!”
If it is signed, the executive order would affect the laws in several democratic administration states that currently have prohibitions or restrictions on single -use plastic straws, such as California, Colorado, New York, Maine, Oregon, Vermont, Rhode Island and Washington.
The imminent executive order occurs only a few months after the Biden administration announced plans in July to eliminate the single use plastic in the federal government.
