The National Intelligence Director (DNI) and the Attorney General are expected to publish his proposed plan for the declassification of the JFK files on Friday.
Both offices, in coordination with the assistant of the President of National Security Affairs and the president’s lawyer, have until the end of the day to release their proposed plan.
Last month, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to declassify files about the murders of former President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy and the Civil Rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Everything will be revealed,” Trump told reporters while signing the order in the Oval office.

The Executive Order occurred after Trump had previously promised in the campaign campaign to declassify the documents when he entered his second term, saying at that time: “When I return to the White House, I will discard and disable all documents related to The murder of JFK is 60 years, time for the American people to know the truth. “

Initially, Trump had promised to release the last lot of documents during his first mandate, but such efforts were finally dissipated. Trump then blocked the launch of hundreds of records on the murder after several cia and FBI appeals.

“I have no other option,” Trump said in a memorandum, where he cited “potentially irreversible damage” to national security if he allowed the records to be released. Trump said at that time the potential damage to the national security of the United States, the application of the law or foreign affairs is “of such gravity that exceeds the public interest in the immediate dissemination.”

The attorney general Pam Bondi, who swore on Wednesday, is in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the day to survey the security of the Super Bowl Lix. Bondi’s first day at work is part of an effort to highlight the broader commitment of the administration to take energetic measures against violent crime and acts of terrorism.
Bondi has not yet formally addressed Trump’s order to declassify JFK’s murder files and his task approach.
