The Department of Justice and a group of FBI agents reached an agreement in the Federal Court on Friday on the dissemination of information on the FBI agents involved in the investigation of January 6.
According to the text of the agreement, the Trump administration cannot disseminate information about the FBI agents who investigated the disturbance of the Capitol of January 6, 2021 without giving the plaintiffs at least two days of prior notice so that the matter can be considered again in The Federal Court.
However, it does not place a time limit on the dissemination of agents’ identities to other government agencies or the White House.
The agreement resolves, at least for now, a dispute on the publication of information that the agents said they feared that they could be used for reprisals or filtering the public.

The lawyers of the agents argued that any effort to review or discriminate against the agents involved in the investigation would be “illegal and retaliation”, and a violation of the protections of the civil service according to the federal law.
They also cited “deep concern” that the list of thousands of FBI agents involved would filter the public, threatening their safety.
