The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, traveled to Washington, DC, on Tuesday to meet with President Donald Trump and the members of Congress in the hope of ensuring more money after mortal forest fires in the Los Angeles area.
The visit, which was confirmed by the White House, occurs only one day after California legislators approved $ 25 million in legal funds to challenge the Trump administration.
This will be Newsom’s first visit to the capital since Download Trump took over and is a continuation of his additional federal funds to help in the recovery of forest fires.

Trump had threatened to retain the help of forest fires until certain stipulations in California were met, including changes in water policy and requiring a voting identification, but now it seems to be willing to work with Newsom after a visit to Golden State Last month.
The two have remained friendly in person, despite frequently criticizing themselves on social networks.

Trump has given much to blame mortal forest fires in Newsom, the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, and the policies approved by state legislators. In an executive order issued last month, he described the management of the terrestrial and water resources of the State as “disastrous.”

“This tragedy affects the entire nation, so it is interested in the nation to ensure that California has what it needs to prevent and combat these fires and others in the future,” Trump wrote. “Therefore, it is the United States policy to provide the necessary water resources, despite actively harmful state or local policies.”

An itinerary for the trip is currently not available, but Newsom is expected to return to California on Thursday.
