President Donald Trump said Friday that he is not interested in deporting Prince Harry, who left Britain with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, which is finally established in Montecito, California.
The Duke of Sussex is in hot water after the conservative expert group, the Heritage Foundation, filed a lawsuit last year against the National Security Department so that its immigration records are released after Harry admitting the illegal consumption of drugs in the past in its memoirs of 2023 “envelopes.”
“I don’t want to do that,” Trump told New York Post on Friday after they asked me if I would deport royalty. “I will leave him alone. She has enough problems with her wife. She is terrible.”
Markle has criticized Trump in the past, calling him “misogynist” and “divisive” during an appearance on television before the 2016 elections.

In 2019, before a state visit to the United Kingdom during his first term as president, Trump described the Duchess of Sussex “unpleasant” for his comments about him.
Then he met with the royal family during the visit, less Markle, who was with the newborn Archie at that time.
He also told Piers Morgan in 2022 that Harry was “whipped as no person he had seen.”
The Heritage Foundation in its demand says that Harry could have lied in its forms of immigration about its past use of drugs or that the government gave it preferential treatment and asked the records to be released.
“I will urge the president to free Prince Harry’s immigration records and the president has that legal authority to do so,” said Nile Gardiner of the Heritage Foundation before the New York Post.

“It is important because this is a problem of the rule of law, transparency and responsibility. No one should be above the law,” Gardiner added. “Donald Trump begins in a new era of strict border control application, and you know, Prince Harry should be fully considered to account, since he has admitted wide illegal use of drugs.”

This week, a federal judge said it is “probably” to release Harry’s immigration archives after the first hearing in the high profile of royalty since Trump assumed the position.
The judge of the United States District Court, Carl J. Nichols, said that Harry’s archives should be released “to the maximum possible extent”, during Wednesday’s hearing in Washington, DC, according to a New York report Post, and the judge reason that he is “forced to make public everything that can be made public” but would be responsible for not violating any privacy law.
Last year during the campaign, Trump told Nigel Farage in an interview that the government would have to take the “appropriate action” if it was discovered that Harry had lied in its forms of immigration, but did not explicitly said that it would seek to deport it.

Trump also accused the Biden administration of “protecting” Harry, saying in a separate interview with the Daily Express in February 2024 “he would not protect him. He betrayed the queen. That is unforgivable. He would be alone if he had fallen to me .
On Friday, Trump, on the contrary, praised Prince William, with whom Harry has a long dispute, as a “great young man.”
Trump recently met with William in December in Paris when the two attended the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral after his devastating fire.
