President Donald Trump mocked the relevance of the Huffpost media, suggesting that he thought “he died”, in an exchange with a journalist on Sunday about statements that Vice President JD Vance did about the judicial interference.
“JD Vance suggested that if the Supreme Court rules in a way he does not like, he could apply it for themselves,” said a journalist at a press conference on Air Force One, heading to Trump. “Do you agree with that?”
The journalist’s comments occurred after Vance declared that “the judges are not allowed to control the legitimate power of the Executive.”

“If a judge tried to tell a general how to perform a military operation, that would be illegal,” Vance wrote on Sunday X after a federal judge ruled that the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) could not access the Treasury Department. “If a judge tried to order the attorney general about how to use his discretion as a prosecutor, that is also illegal. Judges cannot control the legitimate power of the Executive.”
But when he faced the journalist about Vance’s comments, Trump said he was not aware of the controversy.
“I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” Trump replied. “Neither. Who are you with?”

Huffpost, “said the journalist.
“Oh, it’s not surprising,” Trump said. “I thought they, I thought they died. Are they still here? I haven’t read them in years. I thought they died.”
A Huffpost spokesman dismissed the jab.
“His loss, perhaps his greatest since 2020. Millions of Americans are tuning in HuffPost’s coverage to stay informed about the consequences of Trump’s presidency,” said a spokesman for Huffost to Fox News Digital.
When asked directly about the court ruling that blocks Doge to access the Treasury Department and Data Systems, Trump criticized the judge in question, the United States District Judge for the South District of New York, Paul Engelmayer .
“No, I do not agree with that 100%. I think it’s crazy,” Trump told Fox News Bret Baier presenter in an interview. “And we have to solve the efficiency problem. We have to solve fraud, waste, abuse, all things that have entered the government. You take a look at the USAID, the type of fraud there.”
